Blue Cross

Blue Cross have been dedicated to the health and happiness of pets since 1897. Abandoned or unwanted, ill or injured – we do what’s needed to give every pet a healthy life in a happy home. We find homes for unwanted cats, dogs, small pets and horses across the UK and our tailor made service means we help each pet find the right person for them.

Our four animal hospitals treat sick and injured pets when their owners can’t afford private fees. We’ve also got welfare clinics at some of our rehoming centres and a mobile clinic in London.

Flush was found stuck down a four-foot deep basement drain. We think she’d been flushed down the loo. Miraculously she survived and was rushed to a Blue Cross hospital where our veterinary staff gave her a check up and a thorough clean up. When she was well enough we found her a happy new home.

Little Jack Russell terrier Jerry came to our Burford rehoming centre as a stray and was very anxious on being admitted. It was noticed by staff that he could potentially be blind and it has since been confirmed that he has visual impairment, possibly due to retinal atrophy.

Jerry also has problems with his kneecaps and will need surgery on one of his legs. This necessary operation will be carried out at our Victoria animal hospital in London. We are looking for a very special home for Jerry, local to our Burford centre,

with owners who can look after him following his recovery and give him the care he desperately needs.

Adorable Jerry loves his walks and is especially fond of cuddles and fuss and is waiting for a home to call his own. Our hospitals and re-homing centres are a vital lifeline and Jerry and Flush are just 2 of the thousands of pets Blue Cross helps every year.

But the demand for our services is increasing, with more and more pets needing our help. 75% of the calls we receive are requests to help sick, injured or unwanted pets.  It is absolutely essential that we can continue to save the lives of as many pets as possible. We can only do this with the help of our generous supporters – people like you.

Please give what you can to help more pets in desperate need.
