Abandoned dog rescued
At 11-years-old, Niko was found wandering the streets on his own in North West London. Wearing a collar with a lead still attached, we can only assume that Niko had been abandoned and left to face the world on his own.
After being found by a concerned member of the public, French bulldog Niko was brought to Together for Animals member Mayhew, where he could start to receive the care he desperately needed.
As he had been limping, the team could see that Niko was in pain and quickly discovered why. His nails were severely overgrown, and some claws had grown into his paw pads resulting in an infection.
The team also noticed that Niko had limited vision which they believe is from previous trauma or an injury in his right eye and what they suspect is a cataract in his left eye.
Once settled in, Niko received treatment for his painful paws which included bathing them every day. Niko was a very brave boy and was a star patient – with the help of some fuss and treats!
Once healed, Niko was cared for in a loving foster home where he loved rolling around in the grass and keeping his foster family company.
We are delighted to share that Niko has now found his forever home where he is now happily settled, living the life he deserves. We couldn’t be happier for him!
