Molly’s brave recovery

Nine‑year‑old Molly has been through so much in just a few short months. She came into the care of our member charity Mayhew after her owner sadly passed away. We see many difficult situations, but it is always especially heartbreaking when an animal loses the person they loved most.
Soon after arriving, Molly was examined by Mayhew’s Clinic team, who discovered a mass on her mammary tissue and a tumour on her skin. She underwent surgery to remove both lumps while in their care. Thankfully, the mammary mass was diagnosed as benign, meaning she won’t need any further treatment for it.
The lump on her skin was identified as a Mast Cell Tumour (MCT). Molly recovered well after surgery — and the team were relieved to learn that the procedure achieved tumour‑free margins. Because her MCT was low grade, Molly now has an excellent prognosis.

Thanks to the expertise and compassion of the Clinic team, Molly can continue her journey towards finding a loving home. After everything she has been through, she truly deserves a gentle, peaceful retirement surrounded by people who adore her.
Molly’s friends describe her as a happy, affectionate girl who loves people and thrives on companionship. Despite the challenges she has faced, she still has so much love to give — she just needs to find her person.
