About Together for Animals
Who is Together for Animals? Together for Animals is a UK charity (registered charity number 1102985) that raises funds to support the life‑saving work of Blue Cross, Mayhew, Working Animals International, and World Horse Welfare. Your support helps cats, dogs, horses, small pets and working animals receive the care, treatment and protection they urgently need.
How does Together for Animals work? We are a fundraising consortium. Donations made to Together for Animals are shared equally between our four member charities, helping them reach more animals than they could alone.
Which animals do you help? Your support helps a range of pets and working animals, including cats, dogs, horses, donkeys and small pets.
Where does my donation go? Every donation is shared equally between our four member charities, funding veterinary treatment, rescue and rehabilitation, rehoming, international veterinary programmes, and community outreach and education.
Donating
How can I donate? You can donate online, set up a monthly gift, join our lottery, or give through Payroll Giving.
Is my donation secure? Yes. Our online donation system uses secure, encrypted technology to protect your information.
Can I make a one‑off donation? Yes. One‑off gifts help our member charities respond quickly to emergencies.
Can I donate in memory of a loved one or pet? Yes. You can make an in‑memory donation through our website to honour someone special.
Payroll Giving (Give As You Earn)
What is Payroll Giving? Payroll Giving is a simple, tax‑efficient way to support animals in need. Your donation is taken from your salary before tax, meaning it costs you less to give more.
How does Payroll Giving work? Your employer deducts your chosen donation from your gross pay and sends it to us through an approved Payroll Giving agency. We then distribute it equally between our four member charities.
Why is Payroll Giving tax‑efficient? Because your donation is taken before tax, you automatically receive tax relief. For example:
- A £10 donation costs a basic‑rate taxpayer £8
- A £10 donation costs a higher‑rate taxpayer £6
Do I need to tell HMRC about my donation? No. Tax relief is applied automatically.
Can I change or stop my Payroll Giving donation? Yes. You can change the amount or stop at any time by contacting your payroll department.
What if my employer doesn’t offer Payroll Giving? They can set it up easily through a Payroll Giving agency. We can provide guidance if needed.
Can employers match donations? Yes. Many employers offer matched giving, doubling the impact of your support.
‘Win Together’ Lottery
What is the Together for Animals lottery? Our lottery gives you the chance to win cash prizes while helping animals in need.
How do I join the lottery? You can sign up online.
How does the lottery help animals? Every ticket purchased supports our four member charities, funding vital veterinary care, rescue work and community programmes.
Corporate Support
How can my company support Together for Animals? Businesses can support us through Payroll Giving, workplace lottery promotion, team fundraising, volunteering days at member charity centres, Charity of the Year partnerships, and digital awareness campaigns.
Do you offer volunteering opportunities? Yes. Staff can volunteer at our member charities’ centres, helping with animal care, events, or practical tasks.
Can you deliver talks or presentations? We don’t offer live sessions, but we provide digital story packs, videos and ready‑to‑use internal communications to help you inspire colleagues.
