From abandoned kitten to adored pet
When Charlie was just six weeks old, he was found trembling and alone inside a construction bin. Injured, covered in dust and debris, and utterly terrified, Charlie was in desperate need of help. It’s heartbreaking to think of how he ended up there, but thankfully, a kind-hearted member of the public spotted him just in time and brought him to Together for Animals member, Mayhew.
When he arrived, Charlie was in rough shape. He had a nasty wound on his ear, his fur was matted with dirt, and he was completely shut down. It was clear that life had not been kind to him in his short time on this earth. But thanks to the dedicated team at Mayhew—and the generosity of people like you—they were able to step in and give Charlie the care he so desperately needed. The team treated his injury, vaccinated him, microchipped him, and ensured he was neutered, setting him up for a healthier future. His ear has now healed beautifully, though he may always carry a small scar as a reminder of his difficult start in life.
At first, tiny kitten Charlie was understandably wary of people. He kept his distance, unsure if he could trust the hands that were now offering him love and comfort. But with patience, gentle encouragement, and lots of care, he began to come out of his shell. And as he did, his true personality started to shine.
Now, he’s full of energy and loves interactive play—though he has a habit of stealing socks for his own amusement! He’s also an incredibly curious little explorer, always eager to investigate whatever you’re doing. And when playtime is over, he’s more than happy to curl up for a nap with the people he loves.
We are thrilled to share that Charlie has now found his forever home—a warm, patient, and loving family where he can continue to grow and thrive. But there are still so many others like him, waiting for their own second chance.
